“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” - Coco Chanel.

I'd like to think that my skincare and make up routine helps me be that little bit more 'fabulous' and 'classy', but i'm sure it could actually be a lot more fabulous (we can all dream eh?!) I already spend an absolute fortune on skincare and make up in a year (probably far too much than is justifiable), which is why I thought i'd do a beauty post to show all of you lovely lot what I like to use on a daily basis.

I always find it fascinating to read other bloggers discussing their beauty/skincare routine. I get so many tips and ideas for my own routine, whether it be something new to try or just something to alter to make my skin look better (something we all want to achieve!) As a teenager growing up I didn't have the best skin I could have wished for, I suffered with spots and large pores, something I still sometimes struggle with now. This is obviously one of my main issues with my skin and although I rarely get spots now, I still have very large pores that I think look hideous. I spend a lot of money of products that will help to disguise them and take away from the fact that my skin just isn't perfect (boohoo!)

Anyway, enough rambling... Here's my favourite beauty and skincare products!

So first of all, I absolutely love the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (complete with their muslin cloths). Years ago, I used to have massages to help with my back pain and also had a facial or two at times. This is the cleanser the lady used on my skin and it always felt fabulous, it left my skin feeling soft and most importantly removed every trace of make up without stripping or damaging my skin. It features such wonderful, natural ingredients that it suits even the most sensitive of skins (yay!) I totally recommend this product and if you haven't tried it already, then really think you should! It's not even that expensive (bonus!)

Continuing with my Liz Earle obsession, I am now loving their Skin Repair Light Moisturiser. With it being the light version, it glides onto my skin perfectly and is absorbed quickly and easily ready for me to apply my primer and foundation shortly after! I always apply a good moisturiser before applying any make up, it really helps to create a good base for my make up, making it last so much longer and look more flawless. As part of my skincare routine, I religiously use Lush's Tea Tree Water as my toner. It is so light and refreshing on my skin and really helps to get rid of any last bits of make up that might be stuck in those damn pores! I go to bed feeling happy, refreshed and clean. What more could a girl want! (Plus all of Lush's products are handmade and animal friendly!)

Below are a few of my current beauty faves!

When it comes to primers, I still haven't found the ultimate one to use. I've been using an AVON one that helps to illuminate the skin as well but have started to use a No. 7 airbrush primer. Girls always want their skin to look flawless and airbrushed (me included), but although primers do help my skin look better, I still don't seem to have found one that does exactly that. I've recently started using the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC15. It might be expensive but it's certainly worth it and lasts ages as a little goes a long way. They also do it in a wide variety of shades, making it perfect for nearly everybody. The foundation is not cakey at all and blends in really well whilst giving a good coverage. To help with the coverage a little more, I always use No. 7's Concealer in Fair. This helps to cover up any blemishes or redness I may have. It blends into the foundation perfectly giving a smooth surface.

To make my skin look a little 'flushed', I swear by No. 7's Mineral Perfection Blusher in Soft Damson. As it's a mineral powder, it glides on perfectly and it easy to build up if you like a slightly 'heavier' look. Over the top, I also use AVON's Face Pearls to give a slight shimmer to my cheeks. It gives me that 'youthful' look. :)

On my eyes I like to keep things simple on a daily basis. I'll obviously glam up for occasions and when i'm just feeling like wearing a little bit more on them! So I sweep over a light shimmery eyeshadow from AVON with a little light brown in the crease to create a basic, everyday smoky look. This just adds a bit more depth to my lids. I then line the lid close to the lashes with Barry M Blink Waterprood Eyeliner. This looks like a felt-tip and is so easy to apply. Perfect for those who struggle to apply eyeliner on top, especially when creating that 'winged' look. I absolutely love the Clinique High Impact Mascara and have been using it for years! I've recently switched to the waterproof version of that after needing a new waterproof one for holiday. I find it stays put better than  the non-waterproof so it'll be my 'go to' from now on. Then to finish my eyes, I use the Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Eyeliner with the smudger on the other end. This allows me to have a minimal liner look or a more (as the name suggests) 'bad gal', rock chick look.

When Autumn and Winter approaches, my lips tend to dry out terribly! I always prefer to use Burt's Bee's Beeswax Lip Balm. I have tried many of their other versions, but find that the original one is best. It's a really thick balm so coats the lips well and stays on there whilst it heals the lip tissue. (It even has a nice little sting which lets you know it's doing your lips some good!) I have quite a few different lipsticks and lipglosses that I use, but I really like No. 7's and AVON's at the minute. They apply really well and stay put for quite a while. I absolutely adore Chanel's Rouge Allure's range of lipsticks but with them being so expensive for one lipstick I can't really have them as part of my daily routine. I plan on buying one at Christmas with my well-earned Boots points as a nice little treat to myself!

So that's just a small selection of my beauty and skincare products that I like to use, there are obviously many more but I tend to use them on special occasions rather than on a daily basis. This post was purely to demonstrate what I tend to use everyday.
